Cameron Martinez

Position: athlete

Height: 5-foot-11-inches

Weight: 175 pounds

High School: Muskegon

Cameron Martinez is somehow still listed as a three-star according to 247sports and yet everyone knows he is much better than his ranking would suggest. The 2018 Muskegon Chronical Dream Team Player of the Year and the Michigan Football Player of the year recipient took his Division three team all the way to the finals and lost to a superior Martin Luther King led by the first prospect on this list, RaShawn Williams.

What they are saying

247Sports gave Martinez a .8889 composite rating and has him at ninth in the state and the 25th overall athlete. Out of three crystal ball predictions, two are for Michigan and the other is for Ohio State.

The Detroit Free Press reported Martinez had over 250 yards rushing and four touchdowns last season in their regional final win over Cedar Springs.

Should he come to Michigan, he could be looking at a receiver role or possibly at the defensive back position even though he plays QB at Muskegon.

What he says

Martinez was excited about the Josh Gattis hire.

“I think it’s a really good pick up,” Martinez said. “I can’t wait to meet him when I go back to visit. He’s helped programs win. He’s a winning coach. Anytime you have somebody on staff like that, it’s big.”

Martinez also spoke to Maize n Brew after last months visit.

“It was good,” Martinez said. “Took a tour, talked to some of the coaches and then watched the practice. (The offense) looked good. They got a lot of good players.”
