Michigan Football: 5 things to know about Wolverines 2019 season
Explosive Offense
Everyone around the world is waiting to see what Josh Gattis is really going to do this fall. The no-huddle offense was a new improvement to the otherwise conservative approach typically seen at the Big House.
Nick Baumgardner from the Detroit Free Press went in depth into the spring practice and broke down the limited action.
"[T]he foundation of Michigan’s pass offense will spend its time attacking all levels of the field with the schematic design of creating the best situations for the best athletes to catch the football and make something happen from there."
While exciting, the new offense will have some disadvantages, mainly on the defensive side. The fast-paced design will allow for quicker scoring and also a significant decrease in time-of-possession.
The less time the offense has the ball the more time the defense spends on the field but who cares. It’s Don Brown’s defense and in order to beat Ohio State, this offense must fire on all cylinders and from all accounts, coach Gattis has control and the engine is running smoothly.
