Michigan Football: 5 things to know about Wolverines 2019 season
The hype train surrounding Michigan Football is back again for good reason. The Wolverines are evolving and preparing to dominate the college football world.
Four years into head coach Jim Harbaugh‘s tenure and there has not been a season this exciting since his first. When he came in to replace coach Brady Hoke, everything about Michigan football seemed lost after a 5-7 losing year in 2014.
While Hoke did succeed in defeating arch-rival Ohio State, he couldn’t keep winning consistently and even though Harbaugh hasn’t beaten that team down south yet, this year feels different.
Coach Harbaugh has finally handed over the reins to the offense and the team, the team, the team is loving it.
Offensive coordinator Josh Gattis has upended the traditional Michigan football offense and while Shea tried to downplay the question stemming from Wilton Speight‘s handcuff comment, he eventually admitted to the unleashing of this explosive offense.
The defense is also stepping up big time to replace the significant starters from last year. Coming into the season, the defensive back and line positions were a big question; however, the young guys are making giant leaps.
As for the offensive line, it’s hard not to wonder how far this team can go. Returning four starters and having such fierce competition for the fifth starter after coming off a 1,000-yard rushing year should more than makes up for the injuries, dismissals, and youth in the backfield.
These guys are going places and everyone should know it. Everyone should also know these five things about the 2019 Wolverines.
