2021 targets

Bram Walden

The first 2021 target is Bram Walden from Saguaro in Scottsdale. As a sophomore in high school, Walden is listed at 6-5-inches and 270 pounds and plays offensive tackle.

Bram only has offers from eight schools so far – Michigan football being one of them – and yet his 247sports evaluation from Blair Angulo is very enticing.

"Lean frame without much bad weight. Solidly built at around 270 pounds with room to gain mass and strength. Balanced blocker with athleticism and mobility. Quick on his feet, technically sound and agile. Seals blocks on the edge. Consistently reaches second level on run plays. Could become more physical and improve pass-block bend, but doesn’t lack any tenacity or relentlessness. Has positional versatility. Upside to start multiple years at Power Five level and potential NFL Draft Day 3 selection."

This guy straight up bullies opposing defenders with his explosive blocks. If you don’t believe me, you can check out his highlights here.

Quintin Somerville

The only other 2021 target thus far is Quintin Somerville who also attends Saguaro. The 6-foot-3-inch weakside defensive end seemed surprised by the Michigan football offer which could work in the Wolverines favor.

He was so surprised, honored, and humbled that he decided to visit Ann Arbor this past weekend.

His connection to coach Nua began last year when Nua was at Arizona State and it continued even when Shaun made the transition.

“I met coach Nua a while back at ASU and we connected ever since,” Somerville said. “We’d talk weekly and he’d just check up on how I was doing, so our relationship really speaks for itself.”

Quintin further spoke about his recent visit to Michigan.

“I was hoping to learn the system and definitely get more insight in the academic side of things, which were all answered today,” Somerville told Maize n Brew  “Ann Arbor has a culture unlike many other places and this visit was amazing.”
