The defense came out on top

A guy that was an absolute monster two years ago but was much quieter in 2018 was Khaleke Hudson but the senior viper stood out with some nice plays Saturday.

Overall, the defense outplayed the offense. The Wolverines did score a few touchdowns, but the offense was stymied in the red zone a few times and also turned the ball over three times.

The other thing was there was absolutely no running room. Aidan Hutchinson, Ben Mason, Carlo Kemp and Kwity Paye allowed basically nothing on the ground. Michigan tried a couple of short-yardage attempts and they failed.

Some blitz packages got home and were able to put some pressure on the quarterback, with Hudson, Jordan Anthony and Cameron McGrone all getting home. McGrone made a couple of nice tackles and the secondary played really well too.

Everyone may have been excited to see the offense in this scrimmage but Michigan football has won a lot of games because of a dominating defense the past four years and it looks like that trend will continue this season. Hopefully, the offense can keep up.
