Head Coach Jim Harbaugh on Josh Gattis

Jim Harbaugh is as excited as anyone else when it comes to the revamped offense.

"“[Gattis’] style of offense, he’s really good at explaining it and showing us how to coach it,” Harbaugh told reporters. “How’s it been for me? It’s been really good. Really enjoying it. Really learning a lot.”"

Harbaugh also echoed coach Gattis sentiments about the attacking feel of the offense.

"“It’s got more of an attacking feel to the offense in terms of tempo, in terms of going downfield in the passing game and some other things, different personnel groups, tt has that same feel that we’ve always done — multiple personnel groups, you know, you’re attacking in that way.”"

What’s impressive about the relationship between Harbaugh and Gattis is no other coordinator had full control under Jim prior to Gattis arriving in Ann Arbor. What’s even more impressive is Gattis came to Michigan without play calling experience and was handed the keys almost immediately.

"“I like the idea of him running it. We have some very fine offensive coaches here, no question about that. They feel like, ‘yeah, let’s go! This is the direction that we’re going, so let’s go and make it great. Let’s make it work.’ Everybody has the attitude that Josh has. When I talked to him he said, ‘you’re going to get my best.’ When he said that, that’s what we’re looking for. Somebody that’s hungry to make us better, too. We’ll get all the final (offensive roles) sorted as we go, but getting the right people on the bus and getting them in the right seats, I think that’ll happen really quickly and it’s already going smooth so far.”"
