Michigan Basketball: 3 predictions for Wolverines against Texas Tech
Iggy has a big night
Ignas Brazdiekis only scored 19 points in his first weekend of the NCAA tournament and was limited to five against Florida in Michigan’s second-round win.
For the season, Iggy has been held below double figures in scoring just six times and only once has he followed that up by scoring fewer than 13 points. He actually averages more than 15 points a game after being held to single digits and in three of those five contests, he scored 18 points or more.
Another reason you have to like Iggy’s chances of scoring tonight is that Texas Tech is a really good defensive team, but I am not sure it has anyone that can match up with Iggy’s speed and his strength. Brazdeikis can shoot the ball from deep, he can drive to the hoop and while he isn’t as good at it, he can post and score inside.
Getting the ball into Jon Teske will be key too and the Wolverines need some inside presence, but with only 2-3 rotation players taller than 6-foot-5, Iggy might be the guy the Red Raiders fear the most when Michigan has the basketball.
