Michigan Basketball: 5 reasons Wolverines will beat Texas Tech
John Beilein always gives Michigan an edge, especially with extra days
Great coaching is a huge part of winning in the NCAA tournament and there really is no way to overstate how important it is to have a guy like Beilein on the sidelines for Michigan basketball.
Chris Beard is a very good coach too and the Red Raiders are certainly going to be prepared for this matchup. However, if you were forced to choose between Beilein and Beard, I think even Texas Tech fans would choose the former not the latter.
Beilein is probably the best college basketball coach not to win a national championship, either him or Mark Few and his 26-12 mark in the NCAA tournament, along with two Final Fours and six Sweet 16 appearances are evidence of his expertise.
Managing the schedule, preparing your team and getting them to play their best is all part of being a great coach and Beilein excels at all of that stuff. The Wolverines might lose Thursday night, but if they do, it won’t be because they got outcoached.
