More deep balls

Another thing that got me intrigued was that Gattis said the Wolverines would take more shots down the field this season.

With guys like Donovan Peoples-Jones, Tarik Black and Nico Collins, that should be pretty common sense thinking, especially with a quarterback as accurate as Shea Patterson down the field. However, the Wolverines were reluctant to take that aggressive approach at times and seemed content to play conservative and let the defense do its thing.

Unfortunately, we learned that the defense isn’t immune to giving up lots of yards and points to really good teams. So, the offense has to learn how to win a shootout.

Taking more chances down the field will lead to more big plays and with the guys Michigan football has to throw and catch the football, it would be foolish not to throw the ball down the field more.

To create big plays, you have to take chances and the offense didn’t take nearly as many as it should have last season.
