Tournament experience

Michigan is sort of a weird team because as Beilein has pointed out, the Wolverines don’t have any four-year players, however, they also aren’t inexperienced.

The Wolverines have three players, Matthews, Simpson and Livers who started on last year’s team that made it all the way to the national championship game, plus Jordan Poole, Teske and Eli Brooks who all played extended minutes off the bench.

What that means is that this group is tournament tested. Iggy will be playing in the tournament for the first time and Poole will be playing a much bigger role than last season, but this team knows how to gut out a tough win in March.

The battles with Michigan State will help too. Those defeats were costly, but if Michigan can learn from its mistakes, getting tested by the Spartans might end up being a good thing, especially if you believe iron sharpens iron.

UM certainly won’t be scared of any team or any moment. Michigan knows it can play with anyone and in terms of big-game pressure, for most of these guys, it will be like been there done that.
