Harbaugh commented on a number of position battles

One of the most prominent position battles heading into next season is going to be at running back, following the graduation of Karan Higdon.

Chris Evans was supposed to be the favorite to start but after academic issues, his status with the team is murky, as Harbaugh said Monday. The head coach said he could return at some point but no one knows for sure.

With Charbonnet out, much of the attention will go to Turner, who Harbaugh said has “surged.” Given what we saw last year out of the freshman running back, that’s not a surprise and right now, it appears he has the inside track on being the Wolverines bell cow.

Harbaugh also said that Andrew Stueber and Jalen Mayfield were battling it out at right tackle, another job up for grabs on the offense. Beyond that, he touched on the quarterback race and right now, he said Patterson is the No. 1, followed by Dylan McCaffrey and Joe Milton.
