Michigan vs Montana Part II

If you don’t remember, Michigan basketball took on Montana in the round of 64 last year in Witicha, Kansas and despite winning by 13 points, the Grizzlies gave the Wolverines a fight.

At the half of that game, Michigan led just 31-28. The Griz, who won the Big Sky Conference regular season and tournament titles returned Ahmaad Rorie and also have Sayeed Pridgett. Donoven Dorsey is another guy off the bench to keep an eye on.

One promising thing for Michigan is its defense and that is going to carry over to every game in the NCAA tournament. If you are going to beat the Wolverines, you are going to have to play really well offensively.

However, when a team like Montana, which is fairly experienced, takes on the same team, it does cause some concern. They are going to have an idea about Michigan basketball and with the Wolverines penchant for cold streaks offensively, an upset is always a possibility.

Under head coach John Beilein, the Wolverines have lost their first game in the tournament only once, so Michigan is a good bet, but UM can’t afford to take Montana lightly.
