Gary is going top 10

The difference between what Gentry had at stake and what Gary needed to do Friday was stark. While Gentry might have had his draft status on the line when he ran the 40-yard dash again, Gary is so confident in his status as a top pick he didn’t even work out.

It’s not embellishing to say that if Gentry ran another 4.9 something he would be in jeopardy of not hearing his name called in the NFL draft. But Gary, who dazzled scouts with a 4.57 time in the 40-yard dash at the combine didn’t have to do anything.

While his lack of production during his college career will continue to raise some flags, his lack of making an impact has been greatly overexaggerated.

Gary was a really good player and even though he didn’t dominate as a pass rusher, he has all the tools to be a really good three-down lineman in the NFL, one that can own the line of scrimmage right away against the run and down the road, has the ability to develop into a very good rusher, both on the edge and on the interior.
