Tarik Black breaks out with a big spring

Another name guy that Michigan football fans will be paying close attention to this spring is going to be Tarik Black, a redshirt sophomore who has been limited the last two seasons because of injuries.

Black first came on the scene in the spring of 2017 and after outplaying Donovan Peoples-Jones, the top-ranked wideout from that class, Black caught a touchdown pass in his first career game against Florida and hauled in 11 passes for 149 yards in three games before breaking his foot.

Last season, before the opener at Notre Dame, Black got hurt again and was limited to four catches for 35 yards in the last three games, which was all he was really able to play.

Even when Black returned to the lineup, he wasn’t the impact player he was before. It’s likely he was still trying to work his way towards being 100 percent but he also hadn’t worked much with Patterson. Now, the two should have a solid rapport and I expect Black to have a huge spring.
