A hierarchy will emerge at QB

People always talk about the quarterback position and whether it’s fall camp, spring practice or a cupcake game against a team from the MAC, the quarterback will always get plenty of scrutinies.

That is just part of being the quarterback at Michigan football. Shea Patterson has held down the job for nearly a full year now and for the most part, he has held up well to the pressure and even though some people are hoping Dylan McCaffrey can overtake him for the starting job, it’s not going to happen.

Michigan is lucky to have someone as seasoned and skilled as Patterson, who definitely has an NFL arm in terms of both accuracy and arm strength. With his spread background, he should adapt well to Gattis and that should help him put up even better numbers next season.

This spring, Patterson will play well and end any speculation about him losing the starting job. McCaffrey will also play well and so will Joe Milton and even Cade McNamara. However, coming out of spring, it will be as clear as ever that the job belongs to #2.
