Teske and Simpson might hold the key

At times this Michigan basketball team has been hard to figure out, but Friday night against Iowa, it was no secret what drove the Wolverines success and it was the play of Teske and Simpson.

It’s rare to see a team have two players get double-doubles but that’s exactly what happened with Teske and Simpson against the Hawkeyes. Simpson scored 11 points and dished out 11 assists on top of playing outstanding defense and controlling the tempo.

For his part, Teske helped set the tone with six points early on. He scored twice on pick-and-roll plays, then scored after another find. Later in the game, he blocked a shot and ran the floor for a slam dunk. It was typical Teske who finished with 12 points, 10 rebounds, three assists and two blocks.

While the offense has been inconsistent at times this year for Michigan, there are other ways Michigan can win and as long as Teske and Simpson stuff that stat sheet, the Wolverines should be in good shape.
