Michigan Basketball: 3 predictions against Iowa in Big Ten Tourney
Michigan wins but not easily
Michigan is just 4-3 in its last seven games and it hasn’t played the kind of basketball that it did early in the season, but there are still reasons for hope.

UM ran out of gas at Michigan State, but it also beat Maryland on the road before that and led the Spartans by 12 points, so it’s not like this team is playing awful, it just had a really, really bad half against Michigan State.
The result was that many projections dropped the Wolverines down to a three seed, even though they have tons of quality wins such as North Carolina, Villanova, Purdue, Wisconsin, Maryland (2), Ohio State, Indiana (2), Minnesota (2).
Maybe that will motivate the Wolverines who have come in with a chip on their shoulder in the last two Big Ten tournaments. Iowa nearly upset Michigan in the second-round game last year, taking Michigan to overtime. This game could be similar. I expect the Wolverines to win, but Iowa isn’t going to make it easy.
Both teams shoot the ball fairly well and both have some talented bigs inside. The difference is defense. Iowa doesn’t have anyone like Zaiver Simpson. Teske can also be a force defensively as long as he stays out of foul trouble, which will be a huge key for Brazdeikis too, he should excel.
An upset loss wouldn’t be shocking, however, I at least think this team gets to the Big Ten semifinals and gets past Iowa something like 72-63.
