Christian Turner can lock down a key role at RB

Coaches can say whatever they want about competition, but everyone knows that they like to have an idea of what the depth chart is going to look like heading into the fall and at running back, you can bet Harbaugh wants someone to emerge this spring.

The one nice thing is that Michigan football does have one veteran returning in Tru Wilson. Obviously, having him as the starter probably isn’t ideal, but the coaching staff knows he can pass protect on top of being a solid running back.

When it comes to Christian Turner though, there are still a lot of unknowns. Of course, with a good spring, he can answer some of those questions and position himself to be the No. 1 running back going into fall camp, especially with the status of Chris Evans up in the air.

Even if Evans doesn’t lock down a starting job, he needs to build on what he did during bowl preparation, which got him on the field against Florida.
