Michigan Basketball: 5 bold predictions for Wolverines this March
Michigan will make another run at Big Ten tourney
For Michigan, there is something special about the Wolverines and the Big Ten tournament and even though they may not make it three straight tournament titles, it’s not hard to envision UM playing in the championship game once again.
No matter what happens Saturday, the Wolverines wouldn’t see Michigan State until the title game. If the Wolverines ended up as the three seed, they could end up playing Iowa or Indiana and then Purdue to reach the finals.
Or, if they win the regular season crown, they would potentially play Rutgers or Ohio State, before either Wisconsin or Maryland.
Either way, it’s a pretty favorable path for the Wolverines, who with a win Saturday, could try to become the first Michigan basketball team to win both regular-season and tournament titles. It’s hard for me to see Michigan winning back-to-back games against Michigan State, but hey, UM did the same thing last year, so it’s possible and at any rate, another rematch seems likely.
