David Long improves his stock

Michigan football had two really good corners the past two seasons in Lavert Hill and David Long. Hill decided to stay for his senior season but Long declared for the NFL draft and Monday, he helped himself by running a 4.46 in the 40-yard dash.

Long measured at just over 5-foot-10, which is something that hurt him during his time with the Wolverines, especially against Ohio State when the size and speed of the Buckeyes overwhelmed the Michigan secondary.

Despite struggles against Ohio State and against bigger receivers, Long had a solid career with the Wolverines and showed an outstanding ability to play man-to-man. Like former Wolverine Jourdan Lewis, he may be too short to play on the outside, but with his speed, a nickel job seems likely.

Overall, Long had a really good college career and after proving he has the speed to be an NFL corner, it wouldn’t shock me if he was picked in rounds 4-5.
