Michigan Football: 3 freshmen that can start right away in 2019
Michigan football has a lot of talent coming back for 2019, as well as a highly-touted recruiting class. Here are three freshmen who could start right away.
The 2018 season certainly didn’t end the way Michigan football wanted it to. But there can be no debate that the Wolverines still took some significant steps forward.
Michigan football didn’t just beat Penn State, Wisconsin and Michigan State, the Wolverines dominated them. They proved that they have caught and passed every team in the Big Ten but Ohio State and that’s where the target now lies — beating the Buckeyes.
That’s the last thing on the list for Jim Harbaugh. If UM can do that, it can win the Big Ten championship and probably make the College Football Playoff.
Everything people say Harbaugh can’t do can be done by knocking off Ohio State. Of course, knowing it needs to happen and making it happen can be two very different things.
Harbaugh has tried four times and each time, he has come up empty and somehow, someway, each loss gets more painful.
Avoiding losses to Ohio State is about upgrading talent and getting better as a program and in 2019, for the first time in years, the Wolverines locked down a higher-ranked recruiting class. Michigan had the top class in the Big Ten and that’s a really good start going forward.
But when it comes to that group of 2019 freshmen, you have to ask what impact will be made next season? Well, there are a few positions that could be had if some of the guys in this group come ready to contribute and with that in mind, here are three freshmen who could start right away for Michigan football next season.
