Matthews goes out with a bang

Charles Matthews has been a little up-and-down this season and that’s why he could maybe have something to think about after playing one season at Kentucky and two at Michigan.

After a slump in the latter part of the season, Matthews scoring average has dropped down to 12.8 PPG and in the loss to Michigan State, he was just 1-of-8 from the field. That was an unfortunate performance but he did turn his ankle in the first half.

The reality is that Matthews is still a key player for Michigan basketball and when he is motivated to attack the basket and when he can hit some jumpers, the Wolverines are really tough to defend.

He’s one of the few guys that can get his own shot anytime. Whether it’s posting him up or isolating him, Michigan needs to give him scoring chances, especially against the Huskers because I have a feeling he will make his final home game a memorable one.
