Josh Ross will build on promising 2018

There is no doubt that Ross played well when called upon in 2018 and that’s why he finished with 54 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss and a sack. He also broke up two passes.

Ross isn’t going to be Bush. But then again, not many guys are going to be able to play on that level. However, Ross can be a very good replacement and next season, he should be one of the top guys on the defense.

Ross is a decent athlete and even though he can’t cover quite like Bush, he can hold his own. Ross is quick and shows good awareness around the ball.  He played a lot of snaps and while he may be playing in a different position compared to playing alongside Bush, his impact should increase.

It will be interesting to see if he gets as many chances to pressure the quarterback as Bush did and with one sack last season, it seems he has a knack for making plays in the backfield. The bottom line is that he looks like a playmaker and he will be relied on heavily in 2019.
