RB Jalen Berger (No. 57 overall, No. 9 RB)

While hiring Gattis as the offensive coordinator has helped Michigan football when it comes to attracting wide receivers, it has also helped position UM better with some running backs such as Jalen Berger, out of Don Bosco Prep in New Jersey.

Of course, Don Bosco is a legendary high school program and actually, both Chris Partridge and new assistant Anthony Campanile got their coaching careers started there before moving onto the college ranks.

Berger visited Michigan unofficially last April and even though the experts are predicting him to land with Ohio State, with Partridge and either Gattis or Campanile joining the fray, there could be an opening to land Berger, who said he was excited about the addition of Gattis.

The Wolverines got an elite running back in 2019 with Zach Charbonnet, but it’s a position where there will be plenty of opportunities to play and play right away in the coming years.

Michigan has done well in New Jersey recently and if they could pluck Berger away from Ohio State, that part of the country would feel even more like Michigan football territory.
