Wednesday is national signing day, however, Michigan football did most of its work during the early signing period. So here five guys that the Wolverines have already signed who can make an immediate impact next season.

It wasn’t long ago that national signing day was a huge deal. Big name after big name would announce where they were going and the excitement was real. For some schools, there will be some excitement and disappointment Wednesday, however, Michigan football won’t be among them.

The Wolverines locked down their 2019 recruiting class during the early signing-period and while there were a couple of guys that still had interest in Michigan, the work basically has been done.

Over the past few weeks, Michigan football has started to focus much more on the 2020 recruiting class. The Wolverines had their junior day about a week and a half ago and Jim Harbaugh and his assistants are solely recruiting kids in 2020 and beyond.

Michigan does have one formality to take care of on signing day and that is making things official with Quinten Johnson, the No. 316 player in the country in 2019. He is expected to sign his national letter of intent sometime today.

Amauri Pesek-Hickson was also supposed to sign today with Michigan football, but the Wolverines, Harbaugh specifically, asked him to reclassify for 2020 and go to a prep school before coming to UM.

It seems that Harbaugh and Michigan want to save to least one scholarship for a graduate transfer and one that can help right away (likely defensive line).

So there won’t be a ton of news today about Michigan football recruiting as it pertains to 2019, here is a look at the top guys from 2019 and who can make an impact immediately.
