Michigan wins but it won’t be a cakewalk

In the past few games, the Wolverines haven’t gotten consistent efforts from its top three scorers in Iggy, Poole and Charles Matthews. Matthews has scored just 17 points in his last two games, despite scoring 10 points and grabbing 11 rebounds in a win over Indiana.

While Teske has been a great supplement for the offense, who knows how long he can continue to score in double figures. His current streak sits at five games. Simpson has also been huge, running the show and attacking the basket. Against the Hoosiers, he had 12 points and five assists.

But, even with those guys scoring, Michigan needs at least one of their big three (Iggy, Poole, Matthews) to have a big game offensively. Whether it’s posting up Matthews, isolating Iggy or getting Poole into some pick-and-roll action, UM needs to showcase those guys early.

The 6-foot-9 Wesson can be a force inside on defense and it will be interesting to see if Teske can draw him out and make some jumpers. At the end of the day, it should come down to shooting and after being a little cold the past couple weeks, I have a feeling the Wolverines will get it going tonight.

Ohio State will keep things tight and competitive, but in the end, the Wolverines will win something like 71-63.
