Michigan is loaded at wide receiver

If there is one position on Michigan’s offense that is a real strength, it’s at wide receiver. Not only do the Wolverines have three future NFL players in Peoples-Jones, Collins and Black, the Wolverines also have some other talented guys like Oliver Martin and Ronnie Bell.

The real stars though are Peoples-Jones, Collins and Black. Of course, Black injured his foot and missed most of the second straight season. Yet, if he can stay healthy, he should turn into one of the Big Ten’s best receivers.

This past season, both Collins and Peoples-Jones took big steps forward. Both players went over 600 yards receiving and combined to catch 14 touchdowns. That came with a run-based offense when the offense should have been featuring its best players, which outside of Patterson, were Peoples-Jones and Collins.

Next season, the three wide receivers are going to be as good as anyone on the offense. Patterson and those guys are the top players and they should be featured. If they are, expect at least one of them to eclipse the 1,000-yard receiving mark, but in truth, if any of the three reached 1,000 yards, it wouldn’t be shocking. They all have that ability and under Gattis, it will finally show.
