Michigan Basketball: 3 observations from road win over Indiana
The defense was humming again
In the first meeting between Michigan basketball and Indiana, the Wolverines allowed the Hoosiers to score 63 points. But in the second matchup, the UM defense dominated, holding the Hoosiers to 46 points and 28 percent from the field.
Romeo Langford, one of the top individual scorers in the Big Ten, was held to just nine points and 3-of-12 from the field. Juwan Morgan had a solid effort with 16 points, but in every sense of the word, the Michigan defense dominated.
Indiana had been struggling on offense coming into this game, especially at the 3-point line and that continued as Indiana went 3-for-20, however, anytime you hold a team to 46 points on their home floor in conference play, you know you are doing something right.
As well as Michigan had played offensively at times this season, the strength of his team is defense. That is what will give it a shot at winning the Big Ten and advancing in the NCAA tournament and Friday night, it looked as good as it has all season.
Hopefully, that will continue into Tuesday night’s game against arch-rival Ohio State.
