Can Michigan bounce back?

One thing Michigan basketball has been really good at the past two seasons is rebounding from poor performances. The Wolverines haven’t lost much in the past three seasons, but when they have, they have almost always responded with a win.

The last time Michigan lost back-to-back games was in January of 2017 when the Wolverines dropped games to both Maryland and Illinois. That was when the Illini called Michigan “white collar.”

Of course, we all know what happened that season as UM went on a run to the Sweet 16. This season, UM has big aspirations again but the focus right now should be keeping up with Michigan State in the Big Ten. The Spartans are 8-0 after beating Maryland Monday, so a win would keep UM within one game of their in-state rivals.

Beyond that, Michigan just needs to get back into the win column. The Wolverines have a tough stretch of games ahead and they can’t afford to lose at home to a team like Minnesota. And following a defeat, you’d expect Michigan to be motivated. While that might not be the answer to the Wolverines shooting woes, a strong defensive effort, some open shots in transition and a little home cooking just might be.
