Michigan Football: 5 bold predictions for Shea Patterson in 2019
Shea Patterson decided to return to Michigan football for his senior season and here are five bold predictions for the 2019 season of the Wolverines QB.
It hasn’t even been a month since the end of the Michigan football season, but already, it feels like it has been forever.
Wolverines starting quarterback Shea Patterson announced his return to Michigan football less than a month ago, but that too seems like it happened ages ago. Since then, the Wolverines lost ugly in the Peach Bowl and hired an offensive coordinator.
The hiring of Josh Gattis might be the most significant thing that has happened for the Wolverines since the start of the new year and since Patterson is slated to be the starting quarterback in 2019, Gattis is a big deal for him too.
In fact, Patterson was probably happier than anyone when he hearing the news about Gattis because it could finally mean that he’s unleashed. Patterson certainly played well in 2018, but he wasn’t allowed to reach his full potential.
Head coach Jim Harbaugh called plays for a game manager and not a gunslinger. Patterson is at fault too, especially for the poor performance against Ohio State and a really bad decision against Florida. His interceptions in both games killed the Wolverines.
Michigan football probably would have lost both games either way, but against the Gators, UM was driving for the lead when Patterson threw his first pick. Florida scored after the turnover and the lead went from three to 10 and things just snowballed.
At any rate, the idea of this post is to look at the future, not necessarily the past. So here are five predictions for Shea Patterson in 2019.
