2. Returning the favor to Penn State

As dominant as the Wolverines were against Nebraska, no Michigan football team has dominated a team as good as Penn State was this past season for a long time.

People want to say Jim Harbaugh can’t win a big game but Penn State came to the Big House ranked 14th that day, while Michigan was fifth. Wisconsin was also 15th when Michigan was 13th. I get that Wisconsin fell off a bit, but the Badgers won eight games and Penn State nine.

Whoever won out of Penn State and Michigan football was going to get a New Year’s Six bowl berth and if that’s not a big game, then outside of Ohio State or the Big Ten championship game, I guess nothing is.

Deny it was a big win if you want, but Michigan played out of this world. On the first drive, Michigan ran the ball eight straight times for 76 yards and a touchdown. On the next series, Patterson threw a 23-yard touchdown pass to Peoples-Jones and the rout was on.

The interception returned for a touchdown by Brandon Watson right before half was the icing on the cake as Michigan eventually built a 42-0 lead. Michigan is now 3-1 against Penn State under Harbaugh and no win over the Nittany Lions was sweeter than the one in 2018.
