3. Kicking off the revenge tour

Wisconsin was one of the five teams that beat Michigan in 2017 and it was also one of the programs Harbaugh and the Wolverines had been trying to catch and pass in the Big Ten.

Back in October of 2018, Michigan football accomplished that goal and kicked off the revenge tour with a 38-13 demolition of the Badgers. College Gameday was in attendance and the game between two top-15 teams was nationally televised on ABC.

So the entire country watched Michigan run over the Badgers while holding their offense to seven points until a garbage-time touchdown. An 81-yard run by Shea Patterson set up a touchdown that gave the Wolverines an early lead and with UM in front 13-7 in the third quarter, Patterson ran for a score to make it 21-7.

That touchdown capped a 10-play, 75-yard drive. Another 13-play drive led to a field goal, making it 24-7. That seemed to clinch the win, but then the real dagger came when Lavert Hill intercepted an Alex Hornibrook pass and returned it for a touchdown.

Before this game, the talk was that Michigan couldn’t beat good teams and while people are still saying that, we shouldn’t forget the Wolverines obliterated a Badgers team that ended up 8-5.
