Michigan basketball welcomes Indiana to the Crisler Center Sunday and here are three predictions for the Wolverines in the renewal of the Big Ten rivalry.
If you are someone that loves Big Ten hoops, then it doesn’t get a whole lot better than seeing Michigan basketball take on Indiana.
Both schools have proud basketball traditions, as the Wolverines and Hoosiers, both have national championship banners in their rafters, as well as a bunch of Big Ten championships.
While Indiana hasn’t been a factor in the Big Ten race in a few years, that is changing under second-year head coach Archie Miller, who brings Indiana into Ann Arbor Sunday as a ranked team with a 12-2 record overall and a 3-0 mark in the Big Ten.
Michigan basketball comes in 14-0 and is tied with Indiana at 3-0, which makes this a pivotal early-season game. The two teams will meet again in Bloomington Jan. 26.
Indiana, the No. 21 team in the AP poll, lost games to Duke and Arkansas but did notch a win over Marquette earlier in the season. Like Michigan, the Hoosiers are led by a defense that ranks 25th in defensive efficiency according to Kenpom. Indiana is ranked 28th overall according to Kenpom, while the Wolverines check in at No. 5 overall with the second-ranked defense.
Michigan is fresh off a 68-55 win over Penn State; Indiana was victorious over Illinois in its restart of Big Ten. Now, both teams will get set for an early-season showdown at the Crisler Center and here are three predictions for the Wolverines in a must-win game for the Big Ten race.
