Competition in the secondary will be heated in 2019

Michigan football knows what many of its draft-eligible players are going to do, however, there are two still very important holdouts: Lavert Hill and David Long.

Both players decided to play in the Peach Bowl, but neither has committed to next season. That has put a microscope on some of the guys behind them that will be candidates to play next season and so far, some of those guys have impressed during practice this week.

Ambry Thomas is the name most Michigan football fans know, yet guys like Vincent Gray, Gemon Green, German Green and Sammy Faustin have all played well.

Faustin, Gray and Gemon Green are all corners, while Gemon Green’s twin brother, German Green plays safety. But coaches and players have talked all week about how those four guys have improved and if Hill and Long do end up leaving, there will be a fierce competition for snaps in the secondary.
