Multiple backs are turning heads this week

Of course, it will be a bummer to not see Karan Higdon wear the Michigan colors on more time, however, his absence has opened the door for lots of other guys this week. And that doesn’t just mean snaps in the game, it also refers to reps in practice.

While Chris Evans and Tru Wilson remain the top two guys in the pecking order, freshmen backs Christian Turner and Hassan Haskins have also impressed the coaching staff. Turner was a four-star recruit last offseason and Haskins was a three-star, who at one time, was going to move to linebacker.

Now, both are taking snaps in the backfield and each is looking good doing it. Turner has created a buzz all week and some have suggested he could earn a big role in the Peach Bowl against Florida.

That remains to be seen but with Evans, Wilson, Turner, Haskins and incoming freshman running back Zach Charbonnet, the Wolverines are loaded in the backfield. So my guess is that Michigan won’t miss Higdon for long, as great as he was.
