Michigan added three top-50 players

If there was one thing Harbaugh and Michigan football needed in this class, it was star power and with Daxton Hill, Chris Hinton and Zach Charbonnet, the Wolverines got it.

People can sit there and say that stars don’t matter when it comes to recruiting and in some instances, they are right. However, those recruiting stars end up being right more times than not and last season, Michigan landed just six four-star guys according to 247sports.

That is why the Wolverines 2018 class ranked 22nd nationally and third in the Big Ten. Of course, a lot of schools would be happy with that, but Michigan isn’t a lot of schools. And if you want to beat Ohio State, as well as compete for national championships, you need some five-star talents.

Hill will fill an immediate need for speed in the secondary and his athleticism will be noticeable. Charbonnet could make an immediate impact at running back and Hinton is another guy that could start right away inside at defensive tackle.

All three guys could play right away next season and in the case of Hill, within three years, he could be a first-round pick. That’s what Michigan needed and the Wolverines got it Wednesday.
