There is still a couple of months before national signing day but Michigan football is mostly done with its 2019 class and here are the key takeaways.

It has been a crazy few weeks for Michigan football and its fans. First, there was the loss to Ohio State, the NFL rumors about Jim Harbaugh, the de-commitment of Daxton Hill and much more.

For a while, the 2019 recruiting class seemed to be headed towards what happened in 2018, when Michigan football finished with a whimper, losing out on just about every key target before it was all said and done.

When Hill de-committed, it felt like the same thing was happening. But this time around, Harbaugh was determined to turn things around. He went on ESPN and told the world he wasn’t leaving for the NFL and that he was building something at Michigan.

That message resonated with recruits and since then, Michigan has picked up three four-star guys and Wednesday, the Wolverines brought Hill back into the fold. This time, he has signed a national letter of intent, so he will be a Michigan football player soon enough.

While there is still time to spend recruiting, Michigan is mostly done working on 2019. The Wolverines have 27 players and 15 of them are four-stars. Hill is the lone five-star player, but he is also the second-ranked player in the Big Ten behind Zach Harrison, who spurned UM for Ohio State.

All in all, early national signing day was great for Michigan and here are three important takeaways from the Wolverines 2019 recruiting class.
