Michigan will win the battle for Cornelius Johnson

You can never have enough big wide receivers in the college game and that’s certainly the idea Michigan football is taking with its pursuit of Cornelius Johnson, a four-star wide receiver out of Connecticut.

Coming into this weekend, the Wolverines were locked in a tight battle with teams like Stanford, Notre Dame and Penn State for Johnson’s services, yet it was Michigan that got the final visit this weekend and according to 247sports, the visit went well because the majority of the crystal ball predictions now lie with UM.

There have been a couple of developments. Stanford may have taken on too many wide receivers, which is why they no longer appear to be in the running as heavily as they once were. Notre Dame has also cooled on Johnson, a 6-foot-3 target who is the 39th-ranked receiver in the country and the No. 2 player in the state.

Johnson is scheduled to make his announcement on Wednesday along with Harrison and hopefully, both the Ohio defensive end and the Connecticut wide receiver choose the Maize and Blue. If they do, this class will be among the best Jim Harbaugh has had at Michigan football.
