Devin Bush seems likely to sit out the Peach Bowl

There have been some mixed signals sent from the Bush camp. When he accepted the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year Award on the Big Ten Network, he said he was going to play in the game.

However, in recent weeks, there have been rumblings that he and his family are still trying to make the right decision. Unlike some others on the list who could use the game to improve their draft stock, there isn’t much the Peach Bowl can do for Bush, who is already a consensus first-round pick and probably the No. 2 inside linebacker in the draft behind LSU’s Devin White. He was also a consensus All-American.

Over the last two seasons, Bush has racked up more than 150 tackles for the Wolverines to go along with 18.5 tackles for loss, 10 sacks and seven passes defended.

Bush is tremendous against the run, he’s a very good tackler and he moves well enough to be able to play all three downs in the NFL. He also is very adept at getting to the quarterback on blitzes. He doesn’t have anything to prove in this game and for that reason, it’s understandable why he wouldn’t want to play and risk injury. Cue Josh Ross.
