The game will be closer than expected

Anytime you play on the road in the Big Ten, it’s going to be difficult. But when you play a team like Northwestern, it’s even tougher.

The Wildcats and their fans are going to be up for this game. It’s not often that the fifth-ranked team in the country comes to town and for the Wildcats, if they want to have NCAA tournament hopes, this is the kind of game that would really look nice on their resume.

Yet, it’s hard to see the Cats scoring enough to win this game. I do think that Northwestern will cause Michigan some problems on the offensive end and keep this more of a low-scoring affair, yet I am not sure Northwestern will have what it takes to pull off the upset.

Michigan is a tough defensive team, but they can also attack the basket and I expect Matthews and Iggy to do that tonight when the game is on the line. Poole will hit some clutch 3’s and it will be enough for Michigan to escape with a 62-54 win.
