Michigan Basketball: 5 predictions for Wolverines against North Carolina

North Carolina escapes with a win

As good as Michigan basketball has been so far this season, the Wolverines really haven’t faced a team like North Carolina.

Villanova was solid and so was Providence. However, neither of those teams have the explosive ability that North Carolina does. The Tar Heels are also long and deep. Their athleticism will give Michigan problems and even though the Wolverines will use their own length and size on defense to limit one of the best offenses in the country, North Carolina is just too talented.

Unlike last season, Michigan will make this a much more competitive game and it’s one that will go down to the wire. When it’s all said and done, North Carolina just has more shot makers than Michigan and that will decide the outcome in the final few minutes.

You can legitimately see this game coming down to the final possession or two and my prediction is that Maye will kill Michigan once again and find a way to hit a big shot late to help give the Tar Heels a win on the road. Final score: North Carolina 74, Michigan 70.
