Michigan Football: 5 reasons Wolverines fans have to be thankful
Patterson has made a dramatic difference this season
One of the things every Michigan football fan should be thankful for is the fact that Shea Patterson chose to join the Wolverines.
Looking back, that decision and the decision by the NCAA to allow him to play this season, was incredibly consequential. Michigan would be good without Patterson, especially cause Dylan McCaffrey was looking like a star before he was hurt, but it’s hard to imagine Michigan would be as good as it has been this season.
Patterson is completing 65.6 percent of his passes and has thrown for 2,177 yards. He averages 8.5 yards per attempt and has tossed 18 touchdowns compared to just four interceptions. He has fumbled a couple times too, but his ability to take care of the ball has been extraordinary.
He has twice as many touchdown passes as all the quarterbacks did a season ago and he has proven he can get it done in the clutch. There was the 17-point rally against Northwestern and the clutch touchdown pass to Donovan Peoples-Jones to break open the Michigan State game.
Patterson has been special, so when you give thanks, don’t forget to mention him.
