Michigan Football: 5 things we learned from Wolverines win over Indiana
Zach Gentry and Nick Eubanks create explosive plays
Sometimes it seems like the tight ends get forgotten a little bit when it comes to making explosive plays and while these guys can block and do things normal tight ends can do, Nick Eubanks and Zach Gentry are big-time weapons too.
The Indiana game reminded us of that. Eubanks helped Michigan get on the board with its first touchdown on 41-yard catch. It was only his sixth of the season. Gentry also caught a pass for 42 yards, which led to a score. He is second on the team with 30 receptions, however, you get the feeling he could have more.
Gentry is a unique athlete at 6-foot-8. He came to Michigan football as a quarterback and runs very fast for his size. He has 475 receiving yards, yet it’s hard to imagine many teams have an answer for Gentry of even Eubanks,
Both of those guys are capable of making big plays in the middle of the field and if the running game continues to get yards, seam routes to tight ends should be productive for the Wolverines.
