Michigan Football: 5 predictions for the Wolverines against Rutgers
Michigan will win by 40-50 points, maybe more
The committee isn’t going to be super impressed by what Michigan football does against Rutgers. Yet, if the Wolverines struggled or it was a close game, that could hurt their perception a little bit.
That’s why it will be best for Michigan just to take care of business. Rutgers is terrible on both sides of the ball, while the Wolverines are clicking on all cylinders. Expect the Wolverines to come out and run the ball right at Rutgers, because that’s what UM does to everybody.
Higdon will get going and that will open up some big pass plays for Patterson and guys like Donovan Peoples-Jones, Nico Collins and Tarik Black. Look for the coaches to try and get Black another deep ball, in order to build his confidence before the last couple of games.
The defense will also be sharp. I think they want to remain the top unit in the country stats wise and will play like it. I also think in his home state, Rashan Gary is going to get a sack or two. He looked great last week and will be motivated to play well in New Jersey.
Outside of that, I see Michigan winning this game something like 48-0, 51-3, 51-10 or something in that range. A shutout would be great but more than anything, a win for the 39-point favorites is what matters most.
