Michigan Basketball: 5 predictions for the Wolverines 2018-19 season
Jordan Poole’s breakout season has arrived
Jordan Poole might be best known for his game-winning shot against Houston in March Madness, but this season, he is going to make a name for himself in a much different way.
While Charles Matthews will probably still be the Wolverines best overall player, there is a strong bet that Poole is the team’s best scorer. Obviously, Michigan is going to be without three of their top point scorers a season ago and their best 3-point shooter in Duncan Robinson.
That’s where Poole comes in. He didn’t play tons as a freshman but he averaged 6.7 points per game and made 40 triples, including five against Indiana and four against Ohio State. In 12 games, he made at least two 3-pointers. He attempted 108 last season and you can expect that number to go way up.
He also scored in double figures 10 times and with increased minutes and bigger share of shots, he should easily score between 13-15 points per game this season. He is also going to start getting some NBA buzz by the end of the season. Don’t be shocked if he’s gone to the league after this season.
