Mike Hart arrived in Michigan fresh off an incredible high school career, where he set the national record for rushing touchdowns for Onondaga Central High School in Nedrow, New York. A shifty running back, Hart left his mark on the Wolverines program. By the time he was finished at the school, he set numerous records during his time in Ann Arbor.

Hart had his fair share of ups and downs during his college career, but when he was in the lineup, there was no better back in the Big Ten. After bursting out on to the scene as a freshman, where he was named a First-Team selection at running back, Hart had to sit out most of the 2005 season due to a hamstring injury.

He jumped right back in the mix the following season, earning All-Conference honors in 2006 and 2007, while breaking the Michigan record for career rushing yards. Hart finished fifth in the Heisman Trophy balloting in 2006, when he rushed for over 1,500 yards and 14 touchdowns. He was named a captain of the team in 2007.

Unfortunately, the Wolverines just could not beat the hated Ohio State Buckeyes during his time at the school, as they went 0-4 versus their arch rival in his Michigan career. Sill, he was a two-time Most Valuable Player for Michigan, averaged 5.0 yards per carry for his career. His mark of 5,040 rushing yards is still the best in program history. He played only three years in the NFL, but his work inside The Big House will never be forgotten.
