Michigan Football: 4 teams you should root for during the bye week
Michigan football is off with a bye week this week. However, there are still games that will impact the Wolverines and here are four key ones to watch.
After eight grueling weeks, the Michigan football team gets its one and only bye week for the 2018 season this weekend and honestly, the Wolverines deserve a week off.
Lately, they have been on a tear, winning seven straight games, starting 5-0 in the Big Ten and beating back-to-back ranked teams in Wisconsin and Michigan State.
Before the season two big questions were being asked about Michigan football, could it win big games and could it beat its rivals? Check and check. Jim Harbaugh doesn’t look so bad now, does he?
Certainly, Michigan fans want the Wolverines to beat another rival in a few weeks, but the win over the Spartans still tasted sweet, especially after the pre-game incident in East Lansing. What the wins over Badgers and Spartans also did was put UM in an ideal position in the Big Ten East race and truthfully, for the College Football Playoff.
I know we shouldn’t get too far ahead of ourselves. Michigan has three really big hurdles to get over before reaching the playoff. The first comes next week against Penn State, then Ohio State, then whoever reaches Indianapolis for the Big Ten title game, probably Wisconsin, who call me crazy, doesn’t seem like an easy team to beat twice.
But this week, there is nothing the Wolverines can do, except rest up and get healthy. Yet, that doesn’t mean good things can’t happen this weekend for Michigan football and as a fan, here are four other teams you should root for on Saturday.
