Michigan proved it can run on anyone

The running game often determines the difference between Michigan football and Michigan State and Saturday, it was no different as the Wolverines racked up 183 yards compared to just 15 for the Spartans.

Higdon put together a truly great performance, carrying the ball 33 times for 144 yards. It was the sixth-straight game with 100 yards for the senior and not shockingly, UM is 6-0 in those games. Michigan is now 11-0 in games where Higdon gets 100 yards or more.

What was most impressive though, was that Michigan accomplished it against Michigan State, which came into the game with the top run defense in the country. You didn’t think Michigan was going to beat the Spartans by running the football and that’s exactly what it did.

In the past two weeks, the Wolverines have run for more than 500 yards combined against Michigan State and Wisconsin. They also won the two games by an average of 18 points and both times they left points out on the field.

The biggest thing though is that the struggles running the ball in big games, finally appear to be over.
