Michigan wins the game, but it won’t easy

After beating Wisconsin 38-13, the talk started about how the Wolverines are on some type of revenge tour. Well, if that tour doesn’t include a win over Michigan State, it won’t matter.

If Michigan football is going to contend for a Big Ten championship or the College Football Playoff, it needs to beat Michigan State. It’s just that simple. But can Jim Harbaugh, Shea Patterson, and company deliver?

It’s a question I have been going back and forth all week. I had a good feeling going into the Wisconsin game and truth be told, I am confident in the Wolverines ability to win this week too. Yet, when it comes to the pesky Spartans, you never know.

What I do know, is that Michigan won’t win this game without a fight. Even when MSU was terrible two years ago, Michigan still only won by nine points. So this won’t be a blowout either way. On paper, the Wolverines are better; they are more talented and they have more to play for. But will any of that matter at Spartan Stadium Saturday?

In the past, Michigan has come up small in these moments under Harbaugh. Yet, this season feels different. This team feels different. The defense is great; the running game is good enough and the quarterback is legit. That’s a recipe for success, even in East Lansing and ultimately, even though it will take everything this team has, I think the Wolverines escape with a 16-13 win.
