Jim Harbaugh reminds everyone he can coach

To be frank, some of the criticism of Harbaugh has gotten pretty ridiculous. All he did was take a program that was a joke and turn in into a winner almost immediately. Yes, his resume isn’t perfect, but he is 22-7 in Big Ten games. Brady Hoke lost five in his last season alone, Rich Rodriguez lost seven in his first, as well as 18 overall. Hoke lost 14 in four years.

During the previous seven seasons before Harbaugh, Michigan was 24-32 in the Big Ten. The Wolverines won 10 games once, whereas Harbaugh won 10 in his first and second seasons. So, if you don’t think Harbaugh has made a drastic improvement, you just don’t know the facts.

This was his third win over a top-15 team and his second in three years over Wisconsin. Yes, he needs to beat Michigan State and Ohio State. A Big Ten championship is on the to-do-list.

But for now, can we drop the idea that he can’t beat a ranked team? Can we promise not to call for his job if the Wolverines don’t beat Michigan State next week? That’s probably a bit unrealistic, yet after how quickly he has turned Michigan football back into a legit program, people should show a little more appreciation.
